This site is a showcase for the writings of the eighth grade class at the American Community School in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. The students then applied The Big 6  the process for accessing information, the writing process and the assessment rubrics of 6 Traits Plus One to create their writings. We wanted to be able to share their work with a wide audience, particularly their families who may be in another part of the world.

Originally this web portfolio of writing evolved from teachers’ goals to create a paperless portfolio. It has evloved into their Language Arts growth portfolio and they have been encouraged to include thier writings from their other subjects. Hopefully, the students will select other writings that demonstrate their growth as young writers, and use this web portfolio to present their efforts. As this site evolves, these writers will share more of their exceptional work and be “hitched to everything else” in their world and universe.
